Henry Samuel Greenhouse

Henry Samuel Greenhouse, 74 of 1687 Boulevard, New Haven died Aug. 29, 2009. Born Oct. 30, 1934, son¬†of the late Dr. Barnett and Donah Cohen Greenhouse Henry graduated Hopkins School in 1952 and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1956 and Master’s degree in 1958 both from the University¬†of Pennsylvania. He directed two musical groups: one while at college and the Memorettes Singing Chorus in New Haven in the 1960’s. In the jazz field Henry made a number of demo tapes for artists and wrote liner notes for a jazz album.

Funeral service at the B’nai Jacob Cemetery on Jewell St., in New Haven, Wednesday at 12:noon.

    A dear friend e-mailed me this morning with the terrible news. I had visited New Haven frequently over the years and I regret that I had only visited with Henry a few times.

    I miss my days back in the 60s when we (Henry, the doctor and I) would dine out on a regular basis.

    My dear friend Henry,

    Will always remember all the conversations we had and especially the ones we had when I came in for Hillhouse class reunions. Working for your mom in 1949-55, was also a great time. Your mom made the best apple pie. May you be with them, Rest in peace. God bless you.
