It is hard to convey how saddened we are to hear of Bob’s passing. He has done our taxes for more than a quarter of a century, always efficiently yet thoughtfully, always with a cheerful and warm demeanor, even in times when work and, I’m sure, much more were causing him stress. When we moved to Pennsylvania a decade ago, we continued to send our taxes to Bob, coming in person whenever possible, because it was great to see him. We will miss him and send our sympathies and care to all to whom he was close and all those whose lives, like ours, he touched and benefited.

I’ll never forget the first time we came in to see Bob on Pond Point Road, it was the beginning of a good many years of “happy returns”. We went from clients to friends over time and it was always a pleasure to see him on or before April 15th. I know the calendar I designed years ago that featured the month of April and taxes and baseball, still graced his office. What a great guy, obviously gone well before his time and the kind of person you’ll never forget.

I can remember accompanying my parents to their annual appointments with Bob when I was just five or six years old. Even as a kid, I was aware of the relief they felt, knowing that their financial situations were in good hands. When I became a tax-paying adult, working as a journalist in New York City, I didn’t think twice about traveling back to Connecticut to have Bob and Tim handle my taxes. As a freelance writer, my returns are often complex and nerve-wracking. But I’ve never stressed, knowing that Bob would look out for me, as he did for everyone in my extended family and many of our friends. Two years ago I had the pleasure of introducing my husband to Bob, when he helped us navigate an even more complex return as nervous, first-time home owners.

Bob was a kind, good humored, and reassuring presence throughout my life. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Bob was a true friend for over 45 years who was always there for us. Although we originally met for tax needs, our trust and respect for him created a relationship that made him more than a friend, he was family. Three generations of our family only knew one person to trust with their tax needs because when you called, the conversation always started with family updates of how everyone is and what they are all doing. Discussing taxes was always the second order of business after family. Although we moved around the country during my career, Bob was there as a friend and tax consultant and that comfort, kind word and true caring will be missed. We feel we have lost a loved member of our family. May God grant you, his family and all that loved him, peace and solace during your time of mourning. Bob will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
    With love,
