Shirley K. Rubin died in her sleep peacefully on July 3, 2012, one month shy of her 94th birthday at Tower ONE in New Haven, CT. Born Aug. 3, 1918, daughter of the late Sophie and Jacob Korrick. She grew up in Greenpoint and was a life long resident of New Haven. Shirley leaves her beloved daughters Marilyn R. Atlas, a talent manager/producer in Los Angeles, Nancy Glauberman, Ed.D, director of a private nursery school in New York City, her husband Lloyd Glauberman, Ph.D., her granddaughter Marissa Glauberman, and her brother Ira Korrick, sister-in-law Gail Korrick and niece Heidi Korrick. Her work experience included positions at banks and as a collections manager at Berkshire Fuel Co., the company her father founded. She also served as a volunteer at Yale New Haven Hospital for many years. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed theater, and socializing with a wide range of people. Sidney Rubin, her late husband, predeceased her in 1962. She will be missed for her humor, energy and being a loyal friend to all.
