Carole Ann Rogers

Carole Ann (Levine) Rogers died Monday, March 3, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  She was 72. Carole was born in Brooklyn, New York to Samuel and Dorothy (Goldring) Levine, and was raised in Wantagh, New York.  She was a 1963 graduate of the University of Rhode Island and obtained her master’s degree in education from Queens College.  She succeeded in careers in education and computer sales.   Carole was an avid tennis player, a recreational golfer and a Scrabble enthusiast. Her contagious laugh and engaging personality brought smiles and joy to all who knew her. Carole’s greatest pleasures came from her family.  She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Joe Rogers, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; her son, Ron Emanuel, Ron’s wife Alisa and their children Spencer, Jacob and Charlie, all of Chappaqua, New York; and her son Douglas Emanuel, his wife Stacy and their children Zachary and Justin, all of Providence, Rhode Island.  She is also survived by her brother Alan Levine and his wife Joan, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Joe’s son Jim Rogers, Jim’s wife Nicole and Jim’s daughter Ella, all of New York City; Joe’s son David, of Glen Cove, New York; and Joe’s daughter Julie and her partner Patty, of San Francisco, California.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Congregation B’nai Jacob Memorial Park, Wintergreen Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut, on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at 11:30am.  Shiva will be observed between 3:30pm and 9pm that day, and 4pm to 9pm on Monday, March 10, at the home of Ron and Alisa Emanuel, 12 Kittle Road, Chappaqua, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole’s memory may be made to New Day Adult Care Center, 301 Ebbtide Drive, North Palm Beach, FL 33408, or to the charity of one’s choice.
