Dorothy “Dolly Summer Ride” Dorman Jacobs


Dorothy “Dolly Summer Ride” Dorman Jacobs took her final kayak ride on Nov 1, 2016 with her best friend and cherished daughter Rebecca and her kayak buddy Patricia Grant by her side. Dolly, daughter of the Hyman William and Rebecca Barbara Dorman was born June 15, 1923 in New Haven, Ct. She was the baby sister of 8 late Dorman sibblings. She was married for 53 yrs to the love of her life the late Sidney Jacobs. Besides Rebecca, Dolly leaves her much loved son William Alan Jacobs (former wife Ellen). Her adored grandson Michael (Lindsay), their amazing children Sydney Rose and Charlie her great grands. Along with her loved grandchildren Keri Jacobs and Greg Jacobs. They all were the lights of her life. .Dolly also had two special nieces Diane Olin and Sue Hoffman who never let a special occasion for Dolly go by without a celebration. Dolly leaves her numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and, a very special friend” Bev”, at the Towers. On her 80th Birthday Dolly received her very own Kayak. Her “Summer Ride”. This became her sporting passion and she continued paddling until her 91st. year. For the past few yrs. Dolly has had the support of an amazing Health Care Team consisting of Kendra Brown, Sherri Bassett, ,Michelle Goodwin ,Carolyn Williams, Regina Boykin, Jenn Simmons and Sue Middleton. Dolly had a life filled with family, love, adventure and excitement. Dolly’s BLUE EYES and her wonderful smile will remain with us forever.
Funeral service and interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Tower One/Tower East Foundation, 18 Tower Lane, New Haven, CT 06519, or CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.

I pray that you are able to find comfort in God’s promise of paradise where there will be no more pain and sorrow (Revelation 21:4,5)  and the many wonderful  memories of your beloved becoming a reality in the future  resurrection.  (Acts 24:15).
