    Dear Kathy,
My mind knows that you are in a better place
    Where there is no pain.
    You are at peace.
I understand that, I just wish
I could explain it to my heart.
There is an empty space in it that nothing will ever fill.
I grieve, but I know my tears are for me.
We will be together again. Until then,
My love will always be with you.

Kathy and I met at Paralegal school at Hunter College and remained great friends and neighbors on the Upper East Side. We had wonderful times together, including dressing up for Secretariat’s run at Aqueduct. She was so smart, so caring – truly one of a kind. Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit in Connecticut, but we did chat a few weeks ago. I had no idea anything was wrong. I am so saddened. Her premature departure is a huge loss for so many. Sean, you know you had the best mother. I am crying for you. My condolences.

I can’t express the feelings of sorrow over your unexpected and sudden departure from our lives. You will be remembered for your caring, intelligence and humor. They don’t make them like you anymore and though we are all pained, I can’t throw my hands up in God’s face and say why? Instead, I must be grateful for all of you that was shared amongst so many of us, and the fact you were loaned to us for as long as you were. Your love lives on in Sean!! You were the best Wife and Mom, your family could wish for and a friend to many!! Still processing the loss of you, due to my own health challenges I was unable to make it to the service, but my heart is with all of your loved ones. #OneofGodsMostBeautifulAngels

I am shocked and saddened by the loss of such an incredible woman. I worked with Kathy at Lackenbach Siegel in Scarsdale and hit it off immediately. She was so bright, funny and caring. I am so sorry for your loss John and Sean and Debbie and the rest of the family. I’ll miss you. I’ll miss all your Facebook jokes and animal pictures. May you Rest In Peace and know you’ve been a wonderful role model to many and influenced so many lives. All my love – Nancy
