Edward Thomas Biondi
Edward Thomas Biondi, 63 died August 19, 2021. He was born in New York City son of the late Carol LaBrecque and Joseph Biondi. He was also predeceased by his siblings, William Biondiand Carol North. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sheila Greenstein and children Kyle (Hannah) and Nora Greenstein Biondi of Austin, TX. He had lived in North Haven for 28 yearsand more recently had been a resident of Onset, MA and Austin, TX. Ed was employed by Nationwide Insurance for more than 30 years, most recently as Claims Quality Assurance Attorney. Ed loved music: listening, live shows and playing guitar. Family meant everything to him-his nuclear, extended and the family of friends he created.
FUNERAL SERVICES HAVE BEEN RECHEDULED FOR MONDAY AT 2:00pm at Congregation Mishkan Israel, 785 Ridge Rd. Hamden. Proof of vaccination and masks required.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name can be made to Congregation Mishkan Israel, Columbus House, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, Halfway Home Rescue or the charity of your choice. The Weller Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. is in charge of arrangements.

I’m an utterly devastated in hearing this news. In high school Ed and I had such great deep spirited conversations…a brilliant guy…… decades later we caught up on Facebook. His comedy pieces were hilarious. I looked forward to them each day…I will miss them.

Ed came to quite a few of my gigs, and I always appreciated his support for live music. He and I could talk music for hours. We last saw him at Cafe Nine just a couple months ago, and he was so excited about the move to Austin. We’re so sorry, and we’ll miss him greatly.

I worked with Ed at Nationwide in the Branford CT office. I discovered later on another connection, as a good friend of ours was Ed’s cousin, John Kavanagh. The last time we saw Ed was at a gathering after John’s funeral.
Ed was whip-crack smart, good-natured, a skilled musician, family man, and a great conversationalist. We were in different areas in the claims department, but occasionally we would have to confer on things. He was knowledgeable, experienced and patient in conveying the finer points of legal issues. He was a truly nice person who was considerate of others.
