Abby Luria Savin 85 a resident of New Haven prior to moving to Meriden CT in 2006 passed away Wednesday Jan. 13, 2016 at MasonicCare Hospice. Beloved mother of Ellen (Rick) Johnson and Wendy Savin. Sister of Sara L Mag. Grandmother of Thomas (Jen) Johnson, Kelley (Wayne) Bowers, Samantha (Skyler) OrCutt, Jessica (Brian) Cain, Jaime (Malki) Sorge and Dr. Randy Sorge. great grandmother to Cooper, Sarah, Riley, Mason, Shai, Aria, Wyatt and Areli, and nieces Edie and Debbie Mag. Abby was a licensed Social Worker and was employed as Court Liaison for Catholic Family Services, New Haven Family Alliance and with Boys Village. She will be remembered as a great friend and advocate to many as well as a passionate dog lover.
Funeral service will be held Friday 11:am graveside at the B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, Wintergreen Ave., New Haven. In lieu of flowers we would like contributions made to an animal cause of your choice.
