Barbara C. Rosenthal, 87, of Maplewood in Orange passed away peacefully on January 14, 2016 at her home. Born in York PA on February 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Sophie (Kramer) Cohn. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 yrs. Allan J. Rosenthal. She leaves her daughter Connie (Milender) Goebel and son-in-law Jay Goebel of Milford, grandchildren Alec Goebel and Sally Goebel, sister-in-law Helaine (Rosenthal) Meyers, dear friend Marjorie Grimes and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Barbara spent most of her adult life in her adopted home, Brookline and Boston MA. She graduated from Vassar College and did some post graduate studies in fashion and social work before marrying Connie's father. She was a true lady, blessed with great intellect, sense of humor and an ability to really see people. She touched many hearts and will be missed. The family wishes to thank the staff of Atria Larson Place where she lived for close to 5 years, the staff of Maplewood in Orange where she lived since November and the amazing people at Seasons Hospice for the gentle caring and love you gave our Barbara. Those who knew her for years know how she could touch your heart and we thank you for cherishing hers.
There will be a graveside funeral service at the Temple Ohabei Shalom Cemetery, 147 Wordsworth Street East Boston on Sunday at 1:30, with a gathering to follow at 101 Monmouth St., Brookline.
