Charles "Tod" White, 90, of Cleveland, OH, formerly of Placentia, CA. and New Haven. Died January 8 in Cleveland, OH. of heart disease. Born January 27, 1921 in New Haven, son of the late Jenny "Rosen" White and Julius White. Known as Tod and "Whitey", he was owner of Whitey's Cleaners and King Midas Cleaners from the time he finished his service in the Army Air Corp during WWII until his retirement in 1983. An avid Yale football fan, Tod was an accomplished writer and traveler. He leaves his wife Becky of Placentia, CA., three children, Jennifer Seidler of Keene, NH, Perry White of Cleveland Heights, OH. and Jonathan White of Meredith, NH, a sister Ruth Caprio of New Haven and a brother Kenneth White of Stamford, three step - children Tim Nelson of Mission Veijo, CA, Todd Nelson of Anaheim, CA. and Tina Baldwin of Corona, CA., 7 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren. Tod was predeceased in 1965 by his brother Burton of Schenectady, NY.
Service in the Weller Funeral Home, 493 Whitney Ave., New Haven, Thursday afternoon at 1:pm. Interment in the Mishkan Israel Cemetery, Jewell St., New Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185 Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44119.
