Clara Baker, 100 yrs. old died May 2, 2018 in San Jose, CA. Formerly of Woodbridge and Stratford, CT she was the widow of Milton Baker and is survived by a daughter Barbara Baker of Campbell, CA, a son Stuart Baker of San Diego, CA and two grandchildren, Bowen and Austin Baker. She was the first wife of the actor Zero Mostel. She was born in Alberta Canada, Sept. 6, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sverd. She received a BA from Hunter College. For a few years she reviewed plays for Twentieth Century Fox to see if they could be made into movies.
Funeral service was private with interment in the Mishkan Israel Cemetery, Whalley Ave., New Haven, CT.
