Alpert, Erwin Victor on January 28, 2018, New Haven, CT. Born on November 12th, 1918 to Dr. Reuben Alpert and Bessie Alpert, Erwin was a graduate of Cheshire Academy and Columbia University. He served a four year term of duty in the United States Army, based in Saipan and New Zealand during World War II. He spent the rest of his life in the New Haven area, happily married to Florence (Sterling) Alpert. He was a store Manager at Sterling and Susman Department Store and a loving, devoted father to Richard Alpert, z"l, (Eduardo Sese, z"l) and Dan Alpert (Rabbi Eric Weiss) of San Francisco, CA. Erwin was a kind and principled man who will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Alpert.
Funeral service at the Weller Funeral Home, 493 Whitney Ave., New Haven Tuesday at 12:noon. Interment in the Workmen Circle Cemetery, Farwell St., West Haven, CT.
