Freda Galanty, 97 years old, of West Haven, CT passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023. She was born September 13, 1925 in New Haven to the late Jenny and Abraham Phillips. Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Galanty, as well as her four siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Galanty of Middletown and Tobie Rockwell of Milford, her son-in-law Frank Rockwell, grandson Joshua Rockwell (Marcie) of Trumbull, and two great-grandsons (Jace and Grant Rockwell).

Freda lived an active and fulfilling life. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She worked in the bakery at Shop Right in Milford. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Seniors Center and the Italian American Club in West Haven where she had many lasting friendships. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Milford Health and Rehabilitation Center for caring for Freda during her final years.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday May 1, 2023 at the Beaverdale Memorial Park (Adas Israel Section), 90 Pine Rock Avenue in New Haven CT.
