Gertrude Markle Nitkin was born February 17, 1920 in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Esther and Samuel Markle. She passed away peacefully Sunday July 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved sister Alice Bellin and devoted children Arlene Lebov Levine (Sanford), Michael J. Laden (Sally), and Shelly Laden Greengarden (Mark). In addition to her children, Gertrude is survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband Bernard Nitkin's children Risa Nitkin, Linda Lambert (Marty) and their children. Gertrude was predeceased by husbands Milton Lebov, Nathan Laden, and Bernard Nitkin, her son Robert Lebov, and her grandson Marcus Lebov. Gertrude's greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Graveside funeral services will held Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 10:30 AM at B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, Wintergreen Ave., New Haven, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Family Services of Greater New Haven (1440 Whalley Ave, New Haven, CT 06515; www.jfsnh.org).The period of mourning will be observed at the Laden home at 898 Cahill Court in Cheshire immediately following the service on Wednesday, Thursday from 11:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:45 to 9:00, and Friday 11:00 to 3:00. Evening minyans will be held Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM.
