Mariya Smolitskaya, age 88, died August 4, 2012 in Stamford, CT with her family by her side. Mariya had spent her final days surrounded by her family members that she had touched in many ways throughout her life. Mariya always put the needs of others before her own she was the most selfless person.  She always knew the right thing to say to cheer anyone up and her sense of humor would bring a smile to your face. Maria's passion was her family, she would do anything for them.  She always gave them courage and hope and reminded them of the preciousness of life.  Those who were touched by her smile understood the quality of her existence and the joy and love she brought to her family. Mariya is survived by her son, Vlad of Shelton, CT; step-son, Slava of Stamford;  brother and sister Irma and Celia of Stamford, CT; grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
