Marjorie Kliger Prince died on September 28th, 2025 after a brief illness. She was 89 years old.
Marjorie was born in New Haven, CT on April 7th, 1936, the daughter of Irving Kliger and Cecile and Howard Shulman. She predeceases her sister Susan Rapp, daughters Bari and Stacey Prince, Stacey's spouse Teri Mayo, and grandchildren Adena and Chase Modestow. She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Prince (1933-2016).
Marjorie attended James Hillhouse High School in New Haven, and graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford. After completing her undergraduate education she went on to receive her Master's in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. She was employed for many years as a licensed social worker and psychotherapist, including at Clifford Beers Community Care Center and in private practice.
Margie was stylish, outgoing, and intelligent. She especially enjoyed the beach, Scrabble and UpWords, chocolate, iced tea, and Chinese food, movies, reading and travel. After the death of her husband, Lawrence Prince, she moved to Whitney Center where she has made many friends and enjoyed being a part of the community. She loved a party, and was planning one for her 90th birthday; we are so sad that she didn't make it.
Margie will be missed by her family and many friends.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 30th at 11:30 am at Congregation Mishkan Israel Cemetery Chapel, 701 Whalley Avenue, New Haven, CT 06515.
