Robert Comins, 85 of 2798 Whitney Ave., Hamden, formerly of Windsor Rd., Hamden died February 26, 2009. He was the widower of Laura Alderman Comins and is survived by a daughter Linda Comins of Branford, a son Paul M. and his wife Jacqueline Comins of Hamden, two sisters Elaine Lugovoy of New Jersey and Barbara Gibbeon of New York and five grandchildren; QingXian, Dylan, Aysia, Dedriana and Lifyan Comins-Suporbert. Robert retired from Union Trust Co. in 1988 after forty years. He was a pitcher for the bank's fast pitch softball team for many years. He was stationed if Guam durning WW II. The Comins family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff at Whitney Manor.
