Ruth Palmer, 82, of New Haven died June 4, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Ruth was born in Dorohoi, Romania, the daughter of the late Herman and Iety Linscher also of Dorohoi, Romania. She was a Chemical Engineer, a track star during her university years and a regional chess champion. After immigrating to the US in 1973 she worked at International Biotechnologies, Inc. (IBI) and an environmental water- testing laboratory in Waterbury. She also worked at Yale University and Research Publications of New Haven. She is survived by twin daughters Iolanda and Anna Maria of New Haven and Timisoara, Romania, sister and brother in law Mary and Dr. Marcel Bratu and nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held today (Monday) afternoon at 2:pm, at the Mishkan Israel Cemetery, Jewell St., New Haven.
