Steven Bernard Korman, 75, beloved husband of Gail Korman of Milford Connecticut, passed away on May 9, 2017 in Palm Coast, Florida. Steven was born in New Haven on December 1st, 1941. He graduated from Hopkins School in 1959 and continued on to receive a B.A. in Accounting from Virginia Tech in 1964. Steven married Gail Romer on December 24,1961; they were married 55 years. Steven worked as a Certified Public Accountant, started his career at the Ford Motor Company in Detroit before joining his father, Irving Korman at Korman & Korman CPAs in New Haven CT. For the past 20 years Steven enjoyed his position as Vice President and Controller of National Lumber of North Haven.
He is survived by his wife Gail, his three sons and their spouses Jay and Beth of Cheshire, Mark and Lauren of Cheshire and David and Heather of Milford, grandchildren Elana, Sydney, Jacob, Molly and Skylar, brother Howard and sister Reyna, both of Florida. Steven is preceded in death by parents Irving and Esther Korman. Steven enjoyed family vacations, boating, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was known for his wry sense of humor and a commentary for every situation. Throughout the course of his life he had many faithful canine companions, the most current being Brute and Sweetie.
The funeral service will be held at Temple Emanuel, 150 Derby Ave., Orange, CT at 11:00 on Friday May 12th. The interment will be in the Columbus Lodge Cemetery, Jewell St., New Haven, CT. After the burial visitors will be welcome at their home. Shiva will be observed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings. Visitors are welcome starting at 5:00pm with minyan at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Temple Emanuel, 150 Derby Ave Orange CT or The Hebrew Congregation of Woodmont, 15 Edgefield Ave, Milford CT.
